The November 9, 2011 episode of The X Factor featured the remaining 11 contestants performing songs from "iconic movie soundtracks". In keeping with that theme, the judges walked out to John Williams' theme from Star Wars.
The night's first blatant product placement found the contestants attending the premiere of a far less "iconic" film: Jack & Jill, starring Adam Sandler and Al Pacino. Drew Ryniewicz unconvincingly claimed it was "the funniest movie I've ever seen".
Stacy Francis
The performances began with Stacy Francis singing "Queen of the Night" from The Bodyguard. L.A. Reid (the song's co-writer) called it a bad choice, but the uptempo number was a nice change of pace from her usual overdramatic ballads. Her singing won Reid over, but Simon Cowell was less impressed.
